Angry Obama

Barack Obama didn’t look happy tonight. Neither did Michelle. There was something odd about his lack of joy—there was no sense that this was the most thrilling moment of his life. Hillary, who often seems forced and artificial, showed more emotion than Obama did. I found his lack of simple delight unnerving. The crowd was ecstatic—the media were irrepressible, but not Obama. Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but was he so furious with Hillary’s defiant speech, he couldn’t just enjoy the moment?
