The trouble with Obama in regards to his perpetual campaigning is that he simply does not know anything else. He has been running for office since the mid 90′s without respite. He has never actually run anything prior to two weeks ago, and now, lo and behold, he is President of the United States. Even as a community organizer, he did not run anything. He organized. That is not the same as someone leading from the front. Luckily, it’s early in his Presidency. Hopefully, he learns quickly and does not allow others to lead for him such as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. That would be disastrous for all of us to allow the left wing loonies in charge of Congress currently carte blanche. They have already proven their abilities to rob the American people blind.

“Even as a community organizer, he did not run anything. ”

This is now an old charge that was answered by Obama’s election. In short, he beat the “doesn’t have any experience” rap. The media was more concerned with Bristol Palin’s boyfriend’s family.

America has been tested in monumental, almost inconceivable ways in its past but we’re about to be tested again as to the damage this man –propelled by charisma and without a single check on his power –WILL do. I am so sorry to say.

  3. Ted Turner says:

Woah. Seth Swirsky said exactly what I’ve been thinking much of this weekend. I was pretty happy with how Obama handled the transition, and I appreciated his initial friendly tone to Republicans. But once we didn’t wave palm fronds when he endorsed this bloated, non-stimulative porkathon, the mask slipped and it’s BarackGoneWild. What frightens me, and I don’t use the word “frightens” loosely, is that he honestly seems to think all spending is stimulative. He really thinks that it’s been proven that tax cuts are bad for the economy, and that the way to fix all this is to just shovel money out of the White House windows. Damage is right, Seth. We selected a guy who has no meaningful private sector experience, who has no appreciation or respect for private enterprise, who views government as the solution to all problems.

  4. JEM says:

Those journalists who are surprised should have their press pass credentials taken away from them. Obama was a Chicago street politician, who are remarkable in that a) they do no work of consequence b) they are part of a corrupt political infrastructure and c) get very thin skinned when they don’t get their way.

I don’t mean to say I told you so, but those of us around Chicago knew who he was and what he would do. Obviously I probably am rarely ever going to vote democratic for president, but come on, Obama is exactly what his detractors said he was. It was way too easy. Welcome to our prayer that Carter II is the worst of it.

  5. Yael says:

This is exactly the Change that was promised. Obama clearly warned that we would be sadly mistaken if we thought we could eat as much as we want, drive big SUVS and stay warm in the winter. He promised to bankrupt entire industries.

Having spent $750 million to get into the White House, who could possibly have thought Obama would all of a sudden be frugal once he got there? He talked non-stop on the campaign trail about the spending that he would require. His contempt for middle America was also forthright, as when he ridiculed Joe the plumber and those of us who cling to guns and religion.

For crying out loud, his past alliances were clearly corrupt (Rezko), clearly radical (Ayers) and clearly pro-Muslim (Rashid Khalidi, Hassan Qazwini). Who in this country didn’t know that he sat in a church for 20 years – and raised his children there – with a radically antisemitic and anti-American preacher (with ties to Louis Farrakhan)?

Obama recited the Islamic call to prayer to a New York Times columnist and called it “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset” (Nicholas Kristof, March 7, 2007). He made clear his intention to GUT THE MILITARY and establish a “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded” [as the military].

And forget “bipartisan.” There was never any evidence whatsoever that he had the slightest inclination in that regard.

Like Hitler, Obama explained himself in advance. And like Hitler, no one believed he really meant it.

  6. DocC says:

Yael: Well said. Frightening times in which we live. It is only going to get worse. Eliminating conservative talk radio is next.
