…I would say this speech is easily the equal of Obama’s in 2004.

Styrofoam Greek Columns
She’s wicked! She can insult without sounding bitter.
Oh my
“Never use victory except when talking about his own campaign.”
On and on she goes mocking with a smile. This is simply brilliant.
Now That Cuts Too Close to the Bone, Governor Palin
Palin says Obama has had time to write two memoirs but not a single piece of legislation.
Brilliant.
Re: Sorry
Next thing you know they’ll be claiming Piper was really the mom.
Again, Very Smart
Having her demonstrate expertise on a subject that is now the number one domestic issue is pretty darn effective.
Sorry to do this, but . . .
I think it’s important to point out what bad shape the Palin-haters are now in: Here’s the beagle blogger’s most recent live-blogging entry:
10.49 pm. Piper is poking Trig in the eye!
It is possible?
That she was very well vetted? Could they have known what they had? Nah.
If She Can Handle This In Less Than a Week’s Time…
…she’ll be able to learn the name of the foreign minister of Uzbekistan in time for her debate with Joe Biden.
Palin the Authentic
Palin is defining herself with excessive humility, almost to the point of downplaying the extent of her experience & accomplishments. She refers to herself as a hockey mom, says that her husband is still her “guy,” talks about joining the PTA and driving herself to work. There is a conspicuous absence of resume-puffery. The idea is obviously to double-down on her authenticity and outsider-ness. I think it’s working nicely.
“I put it on Ebay”
She is doing this with a twinkle in her eye. John, it is eerliy poised and the crowd is in full swoon.
The Look on Their Faces
The women in this crowd are beaming. I can’t believe they’re alone. I’m grinning ear-to-ear and I bet there are lots of other women out there who are feeling this woman represents them.
This Is No Ordinary Political Talent
After the week she’s had, the insults hurled at her, the slime at her family, Sarah Palin is showing a kind of confidence that is almost surreal in its intensity. Her sangfroid is remarkable, as is her command of the rhythms required of a speaker in delivering a major address before an audience that will surely number nearly 40 million.
She Has a Shiv
“We prefer candidates who don’t talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.”
There Is No Way She Is Going To Be Destroyed
The American people are going to love this. “Let me explain what the job involves. . . ”
Brilliant. Don’t make her the victim. Make her the champ.
More Than Great Lines . . .
She’s delivering these Obama digs exquisitely.
Governor, I Know Dan Quayle…
…and Governor Palin, you are no Dan Quayle.
She’s Comfortable
She was a little shakey at first. But when she’s speaking from the heart she is terrific. This appeal to small town America is perfect. The Dems are right to be terrified of this woman, which is why they have tried to destroy her.
In the Mold of Harry S. Truman
Palin makes an excellent connection between herself and a revered historical figure.
“We Met in High School”
Sarah says of her husband, Todd. A clear effort to make a link between her life situation and that of her daughter, Bristol.
