Word is that Eric Holder may be the pick for Attorney General. (At the very least the Obama team is counting votes.) Yes, this would be the same Eric Holder who was the number two man in the Clinton Department of Justice. The same Holder who steered Marc Rich to his lawyer (from whom Holder at the time was seeking a job). The same Holder who seemed to give his blessing to the pardoning of Rich (“neutral, leaning toward favorable” was his evaluation). If this report is accurate, it isn’t going to please the crowd who thought they were getting change. It isn’t going to please the good government types, either. But it will please some conservative Senators, who will get to sink their teeth into a nice, juicy confirmation hearing. If such a character came along while Sen. Joe Biden was on the committee, can you imagine what he would say?
Oh, goody, none of this is going to cost me a dime. And the check is in the mail. Utopia has arrived! Does he actually believe all this stuff he is saying?
Hogwash. Getting a damned education doesn’t mean a thing if the highly educated are then going to go to Wall Street and Washington D.C. and then proceed to rob all the other Americans blind. This country was built by ALL Americans, uneducated and educated. And last time I read the Constitution it is not the place of government to ensure that Americans get an education.

In Obama’s world, education to become a community organizer is the end goal. It has nothing to do with performance to make the world work. Just think, you’ll now be able to call MBA equpped plumbers to get your toilet working again, and Ph.D.s in sociology to cut your lawn and take in your dry cleaning.
What ever happened to Vo-Tech schools? I work with people with college degrees who can’t even use them for the job they’d like to do.

Eric, please! The powerful message would be, “If your high school doesn’t provide you with a safe environment, stimulating teaching, and a good opportunity to learn, we will make sure you can take a voucher to a high school that does.” We have some difficult students to teach in our cities, but most of our city schools suffer from poor administration, incompetent teaching, and lousy educational theories.
People improve themselves for themselves; they are not creatures of the state.
President Obama is, I suspect, a communist at heart, as his associations with Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers indicate. So he is trying to be a dictator, recognizing no limits on his authority, in this case, on young people. He does not value liberty at all, except for himself and his cronies. The president he claims as his model, Abraham Lincoln, only had six months of formal schooling.
