He doesn’t call her by name, but she does get billing as a “prominent politician.” Actually she is a private citizen, but it’s no less accurate than the rest of this. He is not going to “kill” grandma. No, but he is going to slash Medicare and set up these friendly panels to help decide the “best” and most “effective” coverage. Just like the NICE panels in the UK, which decide who gets what care. He may be giving the liberals a feel-good moment, but I suspect he’s antagonizing many others.

Horsespit! One can’t feel too good about letting it drag on endlessly, but one doesn’t try to blame the cops instead of the crooks.
Add this to the deeply dysfunctional non representational electoral system . . . .
#1-fuster, one wonders why you’re attracted to threads on Israel like a bee to honey?
It’s not like you have anything of consequence to add to the discussion. For example:
http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/pollak/61281?cp=5
read through that thread and find out how many people were using that name.
Fuster, you’re not only a troll, but a lying one, too, although that would be an oxymoron. How many times has JimRob given you the boot?
DH, how do you account for the treatment of Olmert? Was he not leftist enough ? Or just in the way of a blunt-edged criminal justice system?
Israelies try to copy Americans in everything. So if the Americans have impeachment proceedings against their president then the Israelies just figure this is how to conduct things.
It’s mostly bunk. They were griling Sharon on campaign contributions (loans) from a friend in SA.
Waste of time. Gives Israeli democracy a bad name.
Seth Halpern,
it didn’t take long for somebody to come up with Olmert as an argument. Strange how conservatives are only investigated when they take office, but hard leftists are only investigated on their way out, and even then only after they screwed the nation over so badly that even the Israeli left gets fed up. Yes, very strange.
Hasn’t the charge hanging over Lieberman been under investigation for long before he took office? I thought the investigation started at least a year ago, and has been slowed by the police’s failure to get information from foreign sources.
The true power in Israel resides in the office of the Attorney General and the High Court. They run the show. Whoa to any PM who gets in the way of their (leftist) agenda.
Make that “Woe”. Too much geflite fish..
