Pete, I have to disagree with you. What the White House is doing by attacking the Chamber of Commerce is not “abuse of power.” It may be a rhetorical outrage, and low, and slimy, and McCarthyite, but it does not rise to an “abuse of power,” because no power other than lung power is being exercised by the president and his people. If the administration or Congress takes actual steps against the chamber — an investigation, or a lawsuit, or something like that — then an abuse of power will have been committed. But unfairness is not abuse.
