Ron Paul Now Taking Zionism Advice From Neturei Karta

Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, of the anti-Zionist haredi group Neturei Karta, has buddied up to some of the top anti-Semitic scumbags of our time. He’s been photographed at Holocaust revisionist conferences, burning Israeli flags, and warmly embracing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

And yesterday, he actually showed up at a campaign event for Ron Paul.

At the American Spectator, John Tabin posted a photo of Weiss and Paul shaking hands in New Hampshire. Tabin, who was at the event, adds:

On the way out, I overheard a late-middle-aged Ron Paul supporter, identifiable by button and sticker, talking to one of the Neturei Karta guys, saying that “The Zionist are godless atheists … they only believe in themselves.” Ron Paul may not hate Israel, but people who hate Israel sure seem to like Ron Paul.

The conversations between Paul’s fans and the Neturei Karta sound interesting, but what did Paul himself talk about with the group’s leader? Thanks to this C-SPAN video, which captured Paul’s brief conversation with Weiss, we get to listen in on what the two were saying while they shook hands. The interaction starts around the 49-minute mark:

Weiss: Excuse me. I’m a rabbi from New York. Thank you for the [garbled] into Zionism and Judaism. This is a religion, and it should never be transformed into a nationalism.

Ron Paul: Good advice! Good advice.

Note to Ron Paul staffers: If you’re trying to help soften your candidate’s anti-Israel reputation, taking advice from the Neturei Karta rabbi is not a good way to start. Even if he is wearing a black hat and peyot.

Do you really think he heard him…just being polite.

    It is good advice.

Alana is at it again. I don't even have time to debunk everything in here. But why don'y you do this. Instead of just spewing your hate for certain people, why don't you interview and/or debate them on the issues and then post it? n n"He’s been photographed at Holocaust revisionist conferences" THat is a joke. it was a conference named "A World Without Zionism." But if you are a zionist you probably don't like that because it threatens the very foundation of where you stand. n nMahmoud Ahmadinejad's beef with the Holocaust isn't whether it happened, but why the palestinians should have to suffer for what the Jews suffered for in Germany, whether you agree with his argument or not, is not the point. The pont is you are distortion his position, which is not surprising. n nThen again, any mild criticism of Israel and you are dismissed as an anti-semite, which effectively stifles any conversation whatsoever. So if you are in the upper hand of that, you will always win, because all you need to do is call people anti-semitic and you win, because they are not allowed to respond. n

You imbeciles like you if you were black would celebrate a black person sticking up for a white supremacist who states slavery was okay even though their ancestors were brutalized by their slave masters. This is apparently the same thing with the Neturei Karta and how they kowtow to holocaust deniers like David Duke, a former Grand Wizard of the KKK and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Iran's President. n nYou people are nothing more than appeasers and stooges.

      • gold95 says:

"you people." I'm black, so I guess that makes you a racist. Which isn't surprising considering your response.

      • mah29001 says:

And how the hell did you manage to link that? Just more BS to defend wRONg Paul. The more you Paulbots type dumb comments like these, the more I won't ever respect wRONg Paul.

      • gold95 says:

We know what "you people" means. It is just a code word for the "n" word… you should be ashamed of yourself.

    • michaelmas12 says:

Well, dear "gold95", thank the good Lord for modern inventions. Your despicable President (Ahmadeinejad) DID say that the Holocaust did NOT happen. Look up his interview in 2006 for Al Alam. He DOES say that the Holocast did not happen. nAnd ,this low life- yisroel meir weiss, shook hands with the person who calls for israel's destruction ( any guess what would happen to the six million jews?) and you defend him? nIt says more about your beliefs than about the truth….

  4. d5324 says:

Hello Alana, thank you for posting this. btw, the 'garbled' part of the video says: "Thank you for differentiating between Zionism and Judaism…"

  5. Joe says:

Ok, apparently I have no idea what the word "anti-semite" means if a Rabbi is being called one. n nCan someone please explain this to me? n n

  6. jbirdmenj says:

Joe, an anti-semite is someone who wishes harm to the Jewish people. Unfortunately, there are Jewish people who also wish harm on the Jewish people. Many hate the fact that the Jews are not (simply) a religion, but rather a "people". The Neturei Karta are rejected, as individuals and as a philosophy, by almost all Jewish people, from secular to fervently Orthodox. Since they advocate the destruction of the State of Israel, which would result in millions of Jews being killed, they wish harm to the Jewish people and can be categorized as anti-semetic.

  7. Daniel T. says:

He didn't even know who that guy was. The guy had to introduce himself and he was in the middle of an immense crowd. I mean, what? Is two-second meetings grounds for condemnation now too? People are really grasping at straws, here…

  8. michaelmas12 says:

nTo answer your sophistry- there are sheafs of interviews and statements by the lunatic President and the ayatollahs of iran. To say, they " just want the "zionist government to vanish" is such a laugh. What would take its place? a benevolent palestinian government? benevolent like their overlords the Iranian dictatoroship that persecutes Christians, Bahai, jews and Sunni Moslems… or maybe a benevolent regime like in Egypt where the Christian Copts are being mercilessly persecuted…or maybe like in Lebanon…where they have been living in such harmony, haven't they, or maybe like in Sudan, where the Arab majority committed genocide against the Black population- sorry, that was only to make sure they never lifted their heads again… ndear sir, you can continue showing your colors but the record shows -in the original arabic or persian- and even in its translation- there is nothing but hate to the Jews and Israel.

    • gold95 says:

Can I suggest your try not to respond by trying to demagogue the issues with your little jabs. This si the problem you are going to have and continue to have if you want a discussion. I.e. "lunatic President." I am trying to discuss the facts and core issues, but get an editorialized response. n nHow come Iran hasn't killed the jews living in Iran if they hate them so much? n n"To say, they " just want the "zionist government to vanish" is such a laugh." How do you ant them to react? They were forced into accepting the State of Israel, and to be frank, it isn't turning out so well for the palestinians. You never hear about that on the news about the horrors that go on there. n nThe thing is. This is not about whether you agree with palestinians position or even Ahmadinejad. You can disagree with their arguments, but what you cannot and should not do, is distort their positions. That is one reason why there is an increasing amount of blowback against zionism around the world and in the US. So unless you understand why and try to prevent it, it will just get uglier IMO. I am neither pro-Iran or pro-Israel. I am pro-United States. n nLet's accept your premise that "there is nothing but hate to the Jews and Israel." The question is why? And why the "why" is never discussed. That is what is missing. Until this question is debated there will never be peace. n nBy the way, I am not apologizing or agreeing with the way Iran treats a lot of its citizens, but that is another discussion.

      • michaelmas12 says:

Well, sir, slowly , slowly, you are showing your true colors. Does being "pro-United States" preclude also being pro-israel? nTo say " they were forced into accepting the state if israel' ….forced? by whom? Lats time i checked, it was a british mandate and the United nations voted for TWO nations- jewish and palestinian- a compromise that the Arabs promptly rejected. nYou write "the horrors that go on there" (In Israel for the Palestinians). Facts, anyone? n And, of course, Iran, Syria, Egypt are bucolic places where everyone lives in perfect harmony. nThe "why" they hate The Jews and israel is very simple- they are indeed antisemites and I make no apologies for saying that.

  9. Ben says:

Poor anti-semitic Jews-the people with broken spine.r nThat shows what can happen to the people obsessed with the idea of survival.
