Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel may, as Bethany wrote yesterday, have a problem with Chick-fil-A but apparently he has far more tolerance for anti-Semitic lunatics than for gay marriage opponents. Chick-fil-A might be getting blocked from the city, but Emanuel warmly applauded Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam for patrolling the city streets yesterday, with no mention of Farrakhan’s long-held anti-Semitism:
Ignoring Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan’s history of anti-Semitic remarks, Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Wednesday welcomed the army of men dispatched to the streets by Farrakhan to stop the violence in Chicago neighborhoods. …
“The police have a role to play. Tearing down abandoned buildings has a role to play. Shutting liquor stores that are a cancer in the community have a role to play. Community leaders have a role to play. Pastors have a role to play. Principals have a role to play. And most importantly, parents have roles to play. They have decided, the Nation of Islam, to help protect the community. And that’s an important ingredient, like all the other aspects of protecting a neighborhood.”
Farrakhan has been deploying groups of his followers to crime-ridden city neighborhoods on Mondays, to act as a “human wall of protection” in case gunfire suddenly breaks out and stray bullets start flying. That seems like a flawless plan, so you can see why Emanuel would find Farrakhan incredibly important to the crime-fighting efforts.
Meanwhile, here’s an excerpt from a speech Farrakhan gave earlier this month, transcribed by the ADL:
Farrakhan: How many of you are lawyers? Only have one in the house? No wonder we go to jail so much, brother! But at the top of the law profession, who are the top in law?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: Sorry I didn’t hear you.
Audience: Jews!
Farrakhan: Any doctors in the house? Ain’t got no doctors? Oh there’s one way in the back. At the top of the medical profession, the top in that are members of the Jewish community. Anybody in media? Who’s the top in that field?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: Anybody a rapper in the house? There’s rappers. You can rap, ain’t nothing wrong with that, but at the top of that are those that control the industry. Any of you have Hollywood ambitions, Broadway ambitions? Who’s the top of that?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: Same people! They’re masters in business. Well I’m not a businessman I’m a banker. Well who’s the master of the bankers?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: TALK TO ME!
Audience: Jews!
Farrakhan: You don’t discredit them because they’re masters, you discredit them by the way they use their mastery.
Audience: [applause]
Farrakhan: Now, I close
Good thing Emanuel is taking a stand against those bigoted Chick-fil-A franchises, am I right?

Lol.
Maybe tinker bell should ask Farrakhan what he thinks about same sex marriage
I could agree with Farrikhan here — and *do* agree with Bill Cosby's points on this — the simple fact is that the average black high school graduate has the reading & writing ability of the average 7th grade white girl. The NEAP scores aren't broken down by both race & gender but there are other ones that are and there is a real problem with the skills of the young black males who actually graduate high school. And compare this to young Jewish males — both as groups — and which cadre would have a better chance at becoming a lawyer or doctor or even going to college at all? n nOnly 23% of young black males have two parents (ie their father) living in the household. That is not true of young Jewish males, is it? And we can go right on down the list of the differences in the lives of young black and young Jewish males between the ages of 5 and 15 — and these things do make a difference in a young man's life and future. n nI am not a fan of Louis Farakhan, I have no doubt that his next paragraph would be to spin this in to an antisemetic diatribe. But the facts that appear above are accurate. We have destroyed the black community — this is the harvest of the welfare state. As is the carnage on the streets of Chicago this summer – remember it is a 7th grade ability for those who actually graduated high school and didn't just drop out. n nWe have two generations of young black men who are essentially unemployable and we are working on a third. This is a fact that we have to recognize and deal with — racist schmucks like Farrakhan notwithstanding.
WE??? what we? I never fathered 7 children with 5 different mothers. Did you? I never blew the rent money on a horse, or up my nose. Did you? nThere is such a thing as personal responsibility, and blaming society is not an acceptable answer.
Ask yourself a few simple questions: n1. What is the upside in votes in attacking Chick-fil-A deliver? n2. What is the upside in votes in not attacking the Nation of Islam? n3. What is the downside (in votes, not integrity) of attacking Chick-fil-A? n4. What is the downside (in votes, not integrity) of not attacking the NOI? n nSimple math.
Does Obama want to win the Jewish vote this way? After all, Rahm Emanuel was his former chief- of- staff; they think the same. n nWhat does this say about Rahm Emanuel? The left is anti-Semitic. It's time for the 60% of Jews who are still voting for Obama, wake up. How do the Jews of Chicago feel now – safe?

All one has to do – conservative or liberal – to see the stupidity and danger in Rahm's statment is to consider another Mayor stating that there will be no more Ben and Jerry's allowed in their city because Ben and Jerry's believes in gay marriage. Not even considering that B&J goes out of its way to make political statements in support of their beliefs but Chik Fil A only made one statement when asked. So, pure inner beliefs are to now be punished by our government!?
Better example — imagine New York with an anti-gay marriage governor with the personality of Chris Christie — and saying that B&J trucks would not be allowed on the highways of "his" state. Look at the map at where Vermont is, and how you have to go through NY to get anywhere else. n n
RE a Jewish JERK! And there are many in Chicago, California and on West-End NYC
However farrakhan is correct, Jews are at the top of those industries. His problem, America's problem is that being successful is no longer admirable, whereas being a whiner, a loser, a complainer, a chiseler, and coming up with ideas of how to live off your neighbor has become the bon-ton. Farrakhan is merely reflecting the President who says that success is nothing to be proud of because it is always at the expense of others, its all a zero sum game. As for Rahm, he is an Ahitofel whose advice was dismissed and now he has to deal with the mind-set he does not share but is bound to elevate for the wrong reasons. The good new is that the more anti-semites roam the Jewish Streets, the more Jews will realize the American Dream was but a dream
I agree — I just wish Ms. Goodman had picked a different quote. Or perhaps even a different nportion of the one she did pick — heaven knows that Louie F has said enough truly outrageous stuff — and likely later did in the quoted speech. n nMy point though — and we are going to have to deal with this — is that we have an increasing number of unemployable black males. There are solutions, Charter Schools and Vouchers being just two — and look at what Obama did to this in DC (eliminated it) — heaven forbid that others have the opportunity that his two little girls have. Changing welfare policies would help too – how about rewarding the mother for marrying the child's father and staying with him — right now she is rewarded for kicking him out…. n nAnd remember one other thing — back in 1991, the LA neighborhoods where more than half the people living there owned stuff didn't burn — didn't burn because the owners were on their roofs with rifles to prevent that. I'm not some bleeding heart leftist but we gotta somehow get the American Dream back into our urban ghettos because the ring of the cash register is the only thing that will drown out the siren song of Calapso Louie.
You can see by what Rahm Emanuel is doing, that liberalism is very dangerous. "Liberalism uber alles." Even at the peril of his own people!! Yuval, we can make the dream a reality again. by electing Romney!!
