After Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren disputed DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s claim that he called the GOP “dangerous” for Israel, the Florida congresswoman tried to dodge blame by insisting the Washington Examiner misquoted her. Unfortunately for DWS, the Washington Examiner’s Phil Klein just posted audio of her comment, and it matches up exactly with his original report.
First, here’s Wasserman Schultz insisting that she was misquoted by Klein on Fox News earlier tonight:

Could this possibly get any more embarrassing for the DNC? Wasserman Schultz not only misled Fox News, she also tried to baselessly smear a meticulous reporter, Phil Klein, who fortunately happened to record her statement on audio. Not only did DWS misrepresent the Israeli Ambassador’s comments, she also inaccurately claimed that Klein misquoted her. Why would any journalist — or, for that matter, any foreign diplomat — take her seriously again?
DWS is one of many in Democrat party who lie as second nature. Another one is Stephanie Cutter. Then there is Harry Reid. How they live with themselves is beyond me. They will say anything to get BHO re-elected.

Debbie does falsehood—but not very well. Even by her own low standards, this was a remarkably clumsy exercise in lying.
This is so bad for Ms. Schultz. Here are two reasons. n n1. Every reporter will now record every interview just to prevent a politician from falsely claiming he/she was misquoted. Bravo to Klein for doing it this time. Expect all reporters to follow Klein's lead. n nWe might even have reporters now routinely video tape every interview. Audio is good, but a video of the speaker is all the better. n n2. Ms. Schultz uses the word "daylight" to say that there shouldn't be daylight between the political parties and Israel. She directly contradicts Mr. Obama who expressly said he wanted more daylight between the U.S. and Israel. Expect her to backtrack on that comment. And, expect a comparison of her view with Mr. Obama's; who can you trust on Israel? Not the democrats, they can't even give a unified position. n nAt the end of all this, Israel is the loser. Israel needs U.S. support and here we have the democrats mis-using her as a political football. For that alone, the democrats fall short on their support of Israel.

As a former reporter, I'm not sure why anyone would want to interview her anymore. She's a proven, shameless liar and you can't trust a word she says. Same with Obama campaign spokesliar Stephanie Cutter. I'd just freeze them out. It'd teach them a lesson.
