Note on Rabbi Breuer
To the Editor:
There is a small factual error in “Washington Heights: The Fourth Reich” (June 1951)· You say Rabbi Breuer “headed the great Orthodox congregation in Frankfort.” He did not; his father did for a time, and after his father’s death, Rabbi J. Horowitz headed the leading Orthodox congregation in Frankfort. The present Rabbi Breuer headed the smaller Klaus Synagogue, and was also the principal of the Frankfort Yeshiva.
