Spirit of Rabbi Nachman

“The word moves a bit of air,
And this the next, until it reaches
The man who receives the word of his
      friend
And receives his soul therein
And is therein awakened”—
Rabbi Nachman’s preachment on the word,
Which I gloomily thumb
Wondering how it is with me
That I am not yet on the first
Rung (and many with me!).
To move a bit of air!

If a man ask, can he have
This thing, whether it be
An infusion of soul, or souls,
Steadfast to complete the journeying?
Words moving a bit of air
So that the whole morning moves.
