Who Is a Rightist?

To the Editor:

I enjoy reading Commentary, and compliment you on your broad-mindedness in publishing the article “What Is the Right Up To?” (September) by M. J. Goldbloom. Printing that article next to Maurice Samuel’s is like going from the sublime to the ridiculous. Mr. Goldbloom’s article is full of nonsense and name-calling. Anybody who disagrees with these befuddled, so-called liberals is a rightist, a reactionary, a fascist, etc.

Our present Republican administration has inherited so many insoluble economic problems from Mr. Truman that it has not yet found a solution to the old question of how to “eat the cake and have it.”
