Caroline Kennedy knows little about her father. The reality is that John F. Kennedy would probably be a Republican in our current era. I strongly advise everyone to read James Piereson’s Camelot and the Cultural Revolution: How the Assassination of John F. Kennedy Shattered American Liberalism. This may have been the most important book of 2007. Folks like Jacqueline Kennedy, Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr, and Martin Luther King, Jr. conned many American people into believing a right-wing racist instead of a dedicated Communist murdered JFK. They turned the image of Kennedy from a convinced anti-Communist and economic realist into a fatuous lefty like Barack Obama.

JFK would have followed the trajectory of the Neos.
He’d be one of us. He despised the Left, and got along well with Nixon.

David Thompson is on to something when he says “that JFK would probably be a Republican in our current era.” When Jack Parr died I saw a retrospective about his career and they played an extended clip of him interviewing JFK. It ran for several minutes, uninterrupted, with Kennedy doing most of the talking. (I think it was in 1960, before election day.) Anyway, you’d be amazed at how conservatively Kennedy spoke about social issues. What he felt was the deterioration of the culture at that time. The media’s part in that deterioration. I remember him actually using the term “juvenile delinquency”. Kennedy sounded every bit as old fashioned as Ronald Reagan. After seeing this clip I knew it wasn’t an accident that he nominated the very conservative Byron White to the US Supreme Court. Keith Olbermann would choke on his Twinkies if he heard one of his heroes talking like a Neanderthal.

Yes, but who does BILLY CARTER endorse?
LOL.

The fact that Caroline was 3 years old when KFK died did not prevent Tim Russert & Maureen Dowd from treating the endorsement as extremely significant today on Meet the Press. The MSM irrational hatred of the Clintons is driving them mad.

That’s no drive, it’s a short walk. Let’s see how the dynasties line up. The Kennedys against the Clintons. The Bushes against the Clintons. Has the Daley dynasty declared an allegiance? How about the Pryors of Arkansas? (The Clintons probably). I’m sure I’m overlooking a family or two. If Mitt gets the nod in November, there are his five fine sons who will need political careers. The time is coming when the banana republics will offer more choice.

Banjo mentioned the Pryors of Arkansas. I hope that once he gives up on the Presidential race, the GOP can turn Mike Huckabee right around and run him against Senator Mark Pryor who’s up for re-election this November. Huckabee’s stock will never be any higher than it is at this point in time. A GOP pickup in 2008?

Should you double down on a pair if eights if the house is showing a 10 or an ace? I can never remember that one.

Naw Nixon was way too liberal for JFK. I think everybody in history that people have a good feeling about would align with the neocons. And everybody else is a liberal fascist.

JFK a Republican. That’s a gut buster. I want some of what you are smoking. The same guy whose brothers are Bobby and Teddy - a Republican. See JFK had a soul - he cared about people other than those of his social class. Republicans don’t do that. Now Reagan was a Democrat before he got money. Guess that’s why he still had a little bit of soul left by the time he became president - not a lot though.
