Two Important Announcements From the Pentagon
02.21.2008 - 11:28 AMI’m not making this up:
Book Signing - 22 Feb.
Author Michael Scheuer will present his new book “Marching through Hell: America and Islam After Iraq” in the Pentagon Auditorium, Room BH650, this Friday, 22 Feb at 1200. Following his presentation, he will take questions and sign autographs. Mr. Scheuer was formerly in charge of the Osama Bin Laden Unit at the CIA. =20
Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus
Pentagon Services has discount tickets to “Bellobration” at Verizon Center and the Patriot Center. All tickets are $18 each (a $10 savings!). We have tickets to the Verizon Center on Sat, 29 March at 11:30, 3:30 or 7:30. Buy your tickets now, while our supply lasts!
I have two questions:
Does Michael Scheuer deserve this honor?
Are these two Pentagon activities related?

Is “the Osama Bin Laden Unit at the CIA” so named because he is funding it?

It’s good to know that the Pentagon is able to put its silly military and national security purposes aside long enough for book signings and ticket touting for the circus.
Yes Scheuer is a clown, but his antics harm this country, so the only part of the Pentagon he should be allowed to visit is the brig.

He’s still a regular on FOX — he must have a good agent — where he had a few nice words for Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, and called everyone else an obsessive-compulsive interventionist. Like many whose ancestors lost the battle for public opinion in 1917. he’s at war with the American character. But he’s undoubtedly right that we need better border security.

Gabe,
I spotted Scheuer on BBC news last night, contributing to their report on ‘the government’s embarrassing admission of participation in rendition activities’….
Couldn’t hear well enough to know what he said, but those unblinking eyes behind the slightly magnifying lenses of his glasses seemed to sort of caricature his status as the intense and unhinged fellow he is. No major news agency seems to have noticed that he is furiously anti-semitic and anti-Israel.
Or else they know, and simply don’t want their viewers to know because it would dilute Scheuer’s status as CIA expert guy for future news packages.
Oh, and he didn’t seem to say ’sir’ during the bit I saw; perhaps he was being interviewed by a woman.

“Like many whose ancestors lost the battle for public opinion in 1917. he’s at war with the American character.”
Was this when the USA outlawed dissent?

Blue Meanie,
no, that’s when Americans realized what losers your fellow travelers were.
