Think about it: Hillary eventually becomes the nominee (if not now, then in 2012), he can say he was with her. Obama wins the general, he can say he only voted for Hill because he felt it necessary to follow the voters he "represented." Lack of will and lack of guts, aka the increasingly sad Democrat way. For a Democrat, his core beliefs are not offensive (although he has caved to Pelosi at times). As a Redskins fan though, he was one of my least favorite players of all-time. He might have been justified in endorsing Obama, who won his state, but Hillary is a better philosophical match. The endorsement is important, because Shuler is a Blue Dog Democrat. It demonstrates a certain level of disaffection between the left wing of the party (Obama and company) and the few centrists left standing.
